The film especially strikes a chord with the masses with its focus on a poor man who only wants a better life for his son. The movie beautifully captures how Gardner uses his knowledge, charm, and tenacity to build his wealth and lands the most prestigious job in San Francisco’s brokerage firm. The next one on our list is the true, inspirational story of Chris Gardner and his metamorphosis from a struggling, homeless single father to a successful, millionaire entrepreneur. It’s a solid money-centric drama that is a must-watch, especially with the fantastic ensemble of Christian Bale, Steve Carrell, Brad Pitt, and Ryan Gosling. The film highlights the very important fact about the 2008 financial crisis that it was completely avoidable, as are other money mistakes to avoid. The plot follows his success in milking out some big money from the collapse. The movie tells the story of the hedge fund manager, Michael Burry who discovers that the U.S housing market is like a ticking time bomb that is bound to blow up the housing market in a matter of time. You don’t know what that is? Well, thanks to the incredibly talented director, Adam Mckay, the concept of subprime mortgages is brilliantly explained along with other key financial concepts of banking in this movie. housing market that occurred in 2007-2008 due to subprime mortgages. "Fair warning: This movie is quite preposterous and has many things you could nit-pick, but avoid that because you'll really enjoy it. I recommend you see this in a theater, as the large picture and big sound bring the experience home. This movie adaptation of the non-fiction book, ‘The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine’ by Michael Lewis tells the true story of the financial crisis of the U.S. Fall is from a few producers behind 47 Meters Down: Uncaged, which was a really good movie. I'd say I have a moderate/healthy fear of heights, and at times, I definitely had a physical reaction of body-clenching during some scenes (particularly when they hang with bare hands from the top of the tower). This movie is gut-churning as they climb the tower, and the photography and editing give you a real sense of heights. And of course, things don't go as planned. To get back on the horse, the other girl challenges her to face her fears and climb an old TV tower with her (which is basically just a 2,000-foot metal pole with a ladder). It's a horror/suspense film about two friends who are avid rock climbers and daredevils, one of whom suffered a personal loss and deep depression because of it. "I'd definitely recommend you watch Fall in a theater before it goes away (for some reason, it got a comparatively small release). "The movie is based on a book series, and from what I've read and heard in interviews, there are going to be sequels - so I am PUMPED." Ana de Armas has some amazing scenes in it, and honestly made me want to see more of her films. And beyond Gosling, it has a pretty star-studded cast, including Ana de Armas, Billy Bob Thornton, and Chris Evans. It's directed and produced by the Russo brothers, has great fight choreography, which Gosling said he spent seven months training for. That's not to say there isn't a great plot, but it's not like a Jason Bourne or Mission Impossible plot that kind of drags along for three hours. There wasn't any boring filler scenes, no convoluted romance side-story for the main character - just straight ass-kicking. From start to finish, there was nothing but badass scenes. However, I'm not typically into action movies, but The Gray Man completely blew me away. "I'll watch anything Ryan Gosling's in, so my opinion might be a little biased.
